Koniag Data Solutions, a Koniag Government Services company, is seeking an Enterprise Firewall Lead to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in enterprise network security and possess expertise in managing and maintaining firewall infrastructure. The Enterprise Firewall Lead will be responsible for maintaining and optimizing the organization’s firewall infrastructure to ensure the security and integrity of network communications.

Functions, Responsibilities & Duties may include, but are not limited to:

  • Designing, implementing, and managing enterprise firewall solutions

  • Monitoring firewall logs and responding to security incidents.

  • Collaborating with network engineers and security analysts to implement firewall policies.

  • Conducting regular security assessments and audits of firewall configurations

  • Providing guidance and technical expertise to junior team members

  • Staying up-to-date with the latest trends and technologies in enterprise firewall management

Work Experience, Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:

  • 7+ years of experience in enterprise firewall administration

  • Certifications: AZ-900 (Microsoft Azure Fundamentals), Cisco (e.g., CCNA Security), Palo Alto Networks (e.g., PCNSA)

  • Extensive knowledge of enterprise firewall technologies, including Palo Alto Networks, Cisco ASA, and others

  • Hands-on experience in designing, implementing, and troubleshooting firewall policies.

  • Strong understanding of network security principles and best practices

  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment.

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills

  • Experience with network protocols, routing, and switching.

  • Ability to obtain and maintain necessary security clearances.

  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Information Technology, or a related field

  • TS/SCI clearance required.

Desired Skills and Competencies:

  • Experience working in a government contracting environment.

  • Familiarity with cloud-based firewall solutions

  • Additional industry certifications such as CCNP Security or Palo Alto Networks Certified Network Security Engineer (PCNSE)

  • Knowledge of scripting languages (e.g., Python) for automation and orchestration tasks

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills

  • Experience with security information and event management (SIEM) systems.

Working Environment & Conditions

This job operates in a professional office environment and has a noise level of mostly low to moderate. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets and fax machines.

This position is primarily indoors, consistent with a standard office position and has a noise level of mostly low to moderate. The incumbent is required to stand, walk; sit; use hands to finger, handle, or feel objects, tools, or controls; reach with hands and arms; talk and hear. The workload may require the incumbent to sit for extended periods of time. The incumbent must be able to read, do simple math calculations and withstand moderate amounts of stress.

The incumbent must occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 lbs. Specific vision abilities required by the job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.
