FANNIE MAE Employee Relations Senior Associate (Hybrid) in Washington, District Of Columbia

Job Description As a valued colleague on our Employee Relations team, you will provide advice, guidance, and support on Fannie Mae's human resources programs, policies, and procedures that pertain to employee relations to ensure compliance and promote a safe, transparent, and productive work environment. In this role, you will coach, advise, and provide support to business unit clients and Human Resources (HR) partners on a variety of employee relations matters, including, but not limited to, performance management issues, behavioral matters, and policy interpretation.

We have one opening for this role and it can be worked on a Hybrid basis from our Washington, DC, Reston, VA or Plano, TX office.

THE IMPACT YOU WILL MAKE

The Employee Relations Senior Associate role will offer you the flexibility to make each day your own, while working alongside people who care so that you can deliver on the following responsibilities:

  • Research company policies, procedures, guidance, etc., to understand and assess the applicability of such to issues that arise in employee/company interactions and provide consistent guidance and interpretation of the policies.

  • Review, provide suggested edits, and finalize drafts for responses to employee concerns and complaints that violate enterprise policies.

  • Collaborate, coach, and consult closely with business leaders, the aligned Human Capital Consultant (HCC), Employment Attorneys, Representatives of Compliance and ; Ethics, etc., to review/resolve issues (employee relations matters) across all business units of the Company.

  • Identify, analyze, and interpret trends, patterns, and themes from case management data to determine gaps and/or to address areas requiring attention, to inform and impact decisioning with clients.

  • Participate in training to business unit clients, Human Resources, and other stakeholders related to employee relations and Human Resource compliance issues.

  • Provide assistance with case management, DocuSign administration, data analysis, and other areas as necessary.

Qualifications *THE EXPERIENCE YOU BRING TO THE TEAM

Minimum Required Experiences*

  • 2+ years of related HR experience.

  • HR training and experience, particularly in situations involving interpersonal conflict.

  • Knowledge of and practical experience with employee relations issues (including understanding of employment law and policy interpretation).

  • Investigation training and experience.

  • Dispute resolution experience and negotiation skills.

  • Proven track record of working independently to achieve key results, while keeping management and colleagues abreast of critical issues.

  • Excellent organizational skills.

  • Excellent written and verbal communications.

Desired Experiences

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent.

  • Experience analyzing and interpreting data.

  • Experience with case management and Lean management/Agile exposure.
