BAE Systems Electrical Engineer - Strategic Systems Planning Facilities Acquisition in Washington, District Of Columbia

Job Description

This position will support the Navy Program Manager responsible for Strategic Systems Planning (SSP) Facilities Acquisition at TRIDENT Submarine Bases Kings Bay Georgia and Bangor Washington. The selected candidate will provide technical peer reviews of design submittals, will develop Facilities Design Criteria, Facilities Evaluation Testing Criteria, and will perform construction monitoring and conduct/prepare engineering reports and will make recommendations to solve Facilities issues. The selected candidate will also be responsible for developing comprehensive MILCON documentation and Construction Cost Estimates.

There is no relocation assistance available for this position. If relocation is necessary, the selected candidate must be willing to relocate at his/her own expense

Required Education, Experience, & Skills

Candidates must ensure that resume addresses all stated requirements of the posted requisition. Only resumes that specifically include all required skills/experience/education, will be considered.

Minimum education and years of related/relevant work experience required: Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering, with course work in electrical power, or similar electrical discipline with at least 2 years of related professional work experience.

Additional skills/experience required:

  • Desire to work in power distribution, lighting, grounding and bonding and lightning protection systems.

  • Must be able to communicate well in English, both writing and verbally.

  • Must be able to easily navigate Microsoft Office, Edge, Chrome and have general computer skills.

  • Ability to work in a team environment.

  • Working knowledge of AutoCAD.

Preferred Education, Experience, & Skills

  • To have passed the EIT.

  • Knowledge of Unified Facilities Criteria (UFC), Unified Facilities Guide Specification (UFGS) and Electrical Standards.

  • Working knowledge of NFPA NEC.

  • Public Works experience and/or industrial experience.

  • Experience in MILCON facilities programs.

  • Navy CEC experience or Army Corp of Engineer Experience.

  • Familiar with NAVSEA OP5 and Electrical requirements for Ordnance facilities

Pay Information

Full-Time Salary Range: $75570 - $128480

However, individual salaries are determined by a variety of factors including, but not limited to: business considerations, local market conditions, and internal equity, as well as candidate qualifications, such as skills, education, and experience.
