Director of Finance

An expanding international organization seeks a new Director of Finance. Reporting to the Chief Financial Officer (CFO), you would hold a strategic position, responsible for managing all accounting and auditing functions that support the delivery of the org's mission. Working with both global and country based teams, you will oversee the global financial operations.

responsibilities:

  • Oversee global accounting operations which includes eight offices across the US, Sub-Saharan Africa, and South Asia

  • Manage the organization's 990 and annual consolidated global audit process, including assistance with statutory audits in all international offices

  • Lead and manage a team of five full-time staff and provide assistance to a global team of 30- Oversee various department budgets and assist with the global consolidated budget process

  • Assist with the global expansion of programs and supporting financial operations into new geographies

  • Work closely with department leads and global leadership to address organizational challenges and innovate for efficiencies (global monthly close process, global budgeting process, etc.)

  • Develop and monitor global systems to ensure increased accuracy, completeness, and timeliness of financial data

  • Review all financial reports issued to donors

  • Oversee payroll for 80+ US employees and globally recruited staff

qualifications:

  • BS in Accounting or Finance or related area

  • CPA and or Master Degree preferred

  • 4+ years of financial accounting experience including substantial time in the nonprofit and international sector.

  • Strong excel skills

This organization is based in Wash DC and operates on a VERY flexible hybrid work schedule. Annual salary for this position is $140,000 - 160,000 + complete benefits package.
