Cyber Defense Operator

Primary Place of Performance: Washington, DC

Mandatory Requirements: U.S. Citizenship and TS/SCI Clearance

Years of Experience:: 5-10+ years

JFL Consulting is seeking experienced a Cyber Defense Operator to join a highly technical team of cyber specialists. Be a part of an  defensive cyber operations team working with the most current network analysis, TAP technology, forensic software, and network auditing tools available to ensure continuity of critical DoD missions and infrastructure.

Required Skills and Qualifications

  • Experience conducting vulnerability-based network security assessments

  • Networking skills in routing, switching, IP subnetting, and network administration (reference Cisco CCNA certification).

  • Network and System security skills (reference CompTIA Security+ certification) and related technology (network sensors, network security analysis tools).

  • Understanding of the Department of Defense Information Networks (DoDIN) and knowledge of NIPRNet and related but higher classification networks.

  • Previous experience as a network administrator, IT management/consulting, assessing IT, or installation of IT-related systems.

  • Technical ability to evaluate communications, networks, network security and data architecture and identify single points of failure.

Duties to Include but not limited to:

  • Assess networks and mission related communications infrastructure that support customers telephony, networks, video, radio frequency,  physical access control systems, and industrial control systems.

  • Evaluate and identify vulnerabilities that could affect the mission's communications architecture and using this data to assess the vulnerability and risk to these assets.

  • Perform single-point of failure analysis across a broad spectrum of threats (e.g., terrorist, insider threat, inclement weather, etc.) throughout a customer's mission critical infrastructure.

  • Provide recommendations via technical written reports and slides to assist customers mitigation and remediation plans.

  • Travel: Up to 10% travel required and the ability to travel on short notice.

  • Additional duties, as assigned

Required Skills and Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in a technical field such as computer security, computer science, computer engineering, or electrical engineering. In lieu of a degree, a minimum of 5 years of directly related operational experience may be a substitute.

  • Years of Experience: Level III: 6-10 years / Level IV: 10+

  • Possess: DOD IAT Level II certification and DOD CSSP Auditor certification.
