The Building People Computer Aided Facility Management (CAFM) Technician - Hybrid in Washington, District Of Columbia

The Building People, LLC, has a position open for a Computer Aided Facility Management (CAFM) Technician.

  • Support the Project Manager and CAFM Engineer conducting facility surveys using the ANSI/BOMA Z65 measurement standards.

  • Interpret building construction drawings, using laser measuring devices.

  • Create accurate input for assets into the CAFM system for data records and reports.

  • Ensure that asset data is correctly entered, stored and maintained.

  • Input asset data and planned maintenance into database program

  • Execute and monitor all activities involved in reactive and planned preventative maintenance, space and move management, asset management, operational facility services, room reservations and other customer services.

  • Bachelors degree from an accredited school

  • 1 year in conducting facility surveys using the ANSI/BOMA Z65 measurement standards

  • Familiarity with architecture, engineering and construction

  • Experience reading and interpret building construction drawings, use laser measuring devices; possess CAD software skills and database management skills

  • Experience to efficiently use CAD, CAFM, CIFM technologies to either generate drawings or some data entry into these systems. Knowledge and understanding of GSA PBS National Business Space Assignment Policy.

Preferred requirements:

  • CAD Certifcate and or education

  • CAFM Certification

Additional Requirements:

  • Ability to meet Federal & Government security background checks, HSPD-12, Fingerprinting, plus agency-specific screening.

  • Ability to operate within a NIST 800-171 compliant security environment internally and able to support all client-required cyber security data and operational processes.

  • Value and protect company, colleague, and customer data.

  • US Citizenship.

  • 2+ years successfully working from home or a remote location, with minimal supervision. Environment must provide adequate workspace and high-speed internet connectivity.

  • Travel may be required for this position based on the company needs of the more remote hiring areas.
