Play a Key Role

The Truist Summer Internship Program at AFCO Direct (insurance premium finance) will allow interns to gain an in-depth understanding of the premium finance industry and gain exposure to Truist’s purpose-driven culture. During the summer, interns will play meaningful roles in supporting internal and external stakeholders in various departments. Throughout the program, interns will expand their collaborative team skills, business-to-business acumen, technical knowledge and understanding of lending as it relates to insurance premium finance. Our internship offers exposure to senior leaders within AFCO Direct and a support network of mentors and peers.

Operations

  • College/University major, minor and/or specific coursework desired – Finance, Insurance, Business Administration

  • Professional Interests – Business Analytics, Risk Management, Finance, Business Optimization, Insurance

  • Skill Sets – Excel, Quantitative Discipline, strong written and verbal communication skills, financial analysis

Interns will have networking opportunities with previous interns who are now employed with Truist. They will also have the ability to participate in a n internship kick-off event, and a n end of summer event.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

Following is a summary of the essential functions for this job. Other duties may be performed, both major and minor, which are not mentioned below. Specific activities may change from time to time.

1. Work with assigned area of the company (AFCO Direct insurance premium finance) to expand knowledge of B2B lending, the insurance industry and the company.

2. Complete specific projects for departments.

3. Assist department staff with various tasks in support of business.

4. Participate in internship meetings and discussions across Truist and AFCO Direct.

At the end of the internship period, be prepared to:

· Share a presentation that outlines your internship experience

· Meet with the internship committee to evaluate the experience

· Evaluate future career objectives

Required Skills and Competencies:
