Job Description Summary

GE Vernova Grid Automation unit in Walbrzych (Poland) is an emerging and growing business in the field of protection relays, CCS and DCS solutions for distribution, transmission and industry sectors of energy market. The region in which we are mainly active includes Poland, Czech and Slovak Republics, Hungary, Lithuania, Latvia, Estonia, Ukraine, Moldova. We are dynamically introducing the digital substation technology with several success stories in the region behind.

We are now looking forward to strengthening our engineering team in order to deliver to our commitments on 400/220/30 kV onshore power stationa in Poland.

Job Description

The main responsibilities for this position are:

  • configure and carry out on-site commissioning of GE P&C solutions,

  • deliver customer trainings (theoretical, hands-on, presentations),

  • aftersales support for GE clients in the region;

  • recommend solutions which both meet the requirements and secure GE interest,

  • lead technical discussions with GE manufacturing units to compromise the client’s requirements ver. feasibility,

  • coordinate project design between stakeholders (also multinational),

  • verify the design against local regulations,

  • act as Grid Automation focal point and lead technical discussions with project stakeholders,

  • coordinate calculation of Protection Setpoints,

  • support developing design documentation,

  • technical support for the project management team, as well as sales and tendering,

Qualifications:

  • Education:

  • Technical High School Diploma of a relevant faculty of protection & automation in energy systems; Ph.D will be a plus

  • Experience:

  • sound and working experience in power systems, specifically transmission, in the field of protection relays;

  • knowledge of HV/MV systems, incl. bus bar applications, standards, specifications, requirements, communication protocols, etc.;

  • experience in computer networks, switches, routers, gateways, etc. will be a plus

  • acquaintance of GE range of HV/MV protection relays i.e. Micom Px40, Multilin UR, 8 series will be a plus;

  • sound interpersonal skills to effectively interact with a diverse groups of stakeholders, both external and internal;

  • Specific skills:

  • Native or fluent Polish;

  • English command to effectively communicate with multinational customers and other GE functions abroad;

  • Visibility of work requires attention to detail, excellent organizational skills, and discretion with confidential information;
