Amazon Software Development Engineer II, Alexa Business Telemetry in Warsaw, Poland

Description

This role can be based in any of these locations: Gdansk, Warsaw, Krakow.

We are looking for a Software Development Engineer II to join Amazon Alexa team in Poland.

We are a part of the Alexa Business Telemetry organization, building services that support data engineering and business intelligence projects and productize data science and machine learning solutions. Our software helps describe how the business is performing, where it is going, and identify inputs and levers that truly drive business KPIs and long-term value for Amazon.

Our customers include SVP/VP level decision makers, product managers, owners of services, finance leadership, and everyone in between. Our scope covers the full customer lifecycle, and extends to key financial outputs and business objectives.

About the team

Our team provides software solutions for a broader Alexa Business Telemetry organization.

Our products help data engineers and business intelligence engineers do their work, and help data scientist make research results and machine learning models useful to broad groups of customers across the company.

Amazon Alexa is a project of unique scale and needs, so our team has strong software engineering competencies, applies modern approaches and doubles down on operational excellence and using scalable Amazon Web Services (AWS) when developing our solutions.

Basic Qualifications

  • BS/MS in Computer Science or related field or equivalent experience

  • Proficiency in at least one modern programming language (Java, C#, C/C++, Python, etc.)

  • Basic experience with Linux/Unix systems

  • Solid knowledge of CS fundamentals (algorithms, data structures)

Preferred Qualifications

Qualifications listed below will be helpful in this role but are not required. You will gain this experience working with us.

  • Experience working with AWS (e.g. Lambda, DynamoDB, Elasticsearch, Cloud Development Kit)

  • Experience building distributed systems, microservices, serverless applications, RESTful APIs, web applications

  • Knowledge and experience with various processes in the full SDLC (coding standards, code reviews, source control, build systems, integration and deployment, maintenance, updates, etc.)

  • Experience delivering software features and improvements to major portions of production software
