DISTINGUISHING FEATURES OF THE CLASS: The Mid-Level Provider, either a Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant, will be responsible for performing medical assessments on applicable patients within the General Surgery clinics under the guidance of supervising physicians. Responsible for completing assessments on all patients, demonstrates critical thinking skills and exercises judgment in evaluating patient care situations, identify teaching needs of patient, coordinates care, documents all necessary information in EMR, fulfills professional obligations and all other duties as requested.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: Graduation from a state approved Nurse Practitioner program OR an approved Physician Assistant program, and Current RN and Nurse Practitioner license to practice in the state of New York OR current Physician Assistant license, and One year of experience in the practice setting preferred, and Current BLS Certification.
