Proposed Schedule: 40 hours per week. Monday-Friday 8am-4:30pm

Position Summary:

Assists Dentist in treatment of patients. Cleans treatment rooms, ensuring all instruments are sterile. Acts as a liaison between patients, providers and staff members by providing prompt and professional service per the patient’s needs. Performs routine duties associated with revenues, schedules, referrals and protects patient confidentiality. To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily:

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

• Clean all rooms thoroughly and ensures that all instruments, hand pieces and burs are sterile at all times

• Sets up operations in all rooms according to proper procedure before the patient sees the provider. Including, stocking items, cleaning instruments, spraying surfaces and replacing plastic coverings

• Performs maintenance according to proper protocol on ultrasonic, autoclave, x-ray developer

• Attends to appointment changes and rescheduling patients accordingly

• Maintains and updates MSDS book as necessary

• Utilizes the autoclave to sterilize instruments according to protocol including necessary spore testing procedure

• Understands and properly cares for ultrasonic device and performs appropriate quality control

• Assist the Dentist and Hygienist in ensuring that the educational needs of the patient are met

• Understands and performs appropriate QC for X-Ray developer

Qualifications:

• High School Diploma or General Education Degree (GED); dental assistant certification and/or three to six months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience

• Current CPR or BLS Certification

The pay range for this position is $19.50- $20.50 per hour and will be based on skills and experience.
