Corporate Legal Counsel - 2004081

DESCRIPTION/RESPONSIBILITIES: We are currently looking to fill the position of Corporate Legal Counsel which will join the Legal Team for Coherent Corp. with a focus on Trade Compliance. This individual will be based out of our corporate office in Warrendale, PA. This position will report into the General Counsel, Lasers North America, and have significant contact with the Chief Legal Officer and other executives in the company.

Primary Duties & Responsibilities * Review, draft, and negotiate contracts with customers and suppliers, confidentiality agreements, and other complex commercial agreements. * Provide guidance on business and legal risks to internal teams as needed. * Assist in implementing and maintaining appropriate policies and procedures to ensure the company's compliance with applicable laws and regulations, including privacy and consumer protection compliance, and assess potential risk where there might be alternatives. * Help build and improve form agreements and legal processes. * Act as a business partner to support the achievement of the organization's operational goals and strategies. * Work closely with other Legal Department colleagues on cross-business and cross-border transactions.

Education & Experience * 2-5 years of experience, preferably with transactional experience handling matters related to customer and supplier contracts. In-house experience and major law firm experience favorably considered. * Juris Doctorate and current Bar membership in good standing is required.

Skills * Superior written and oral communication skills, along with excellent presentation skills. * Ability to quickly establish a solid rapport and trust with the legal team and executives and develop strong working relationships with internal business partners. * Excellent strategic, organizational, and business process skills with the ability to follow through on numerous projects simultaneously and under tight deadlines. * Ability to work well independently, coupled with strong interpersonal skills, resourcefulness, and an ability to participate in a highly collaborative team environment. * Flexibility, strong commitment to professionalism, and collegiality. * Due to ITAR regulations, U.S. citizenship or Permanent Resident Alien Status required.

Working Conditions * Flexible on-site and remote work schedule, expected in office 2-3 days per week initially * Located within commuting distance to Pittsburgh, PA favorably considered.

Physical Requirements * May require travel up to 10% of time.
