Ducommun Manufacturing Intern in Warren, Rhode Island

Located in Warren, Rhode Island, MagSeal has provided innovative and custom sealing solutions to the aerospace industry for over 70 years. As we look to our future, we anticipate and prepare for growth, as our customers look to MagSeal to support their increased demand.

Magnetic Seal has an opportunity for a Manufacturing Intern to join our team! This will be an onsite internship in Warren, Rhode Island.

Candidates will learn:

  • Introduction to GD&T, print interpretation and machining practices as they apply to MagSeal.

  • Introduction in how to set up and operate different types of machinery throughout the facility to include grinding machines, lapping machines and CNC equipment.

  • Introduction to quality at the source process.

  • Gauge Usage such height gauges, OD Box Gauge, Federal Gauges, etc.

  • Metrology Equipment: Use of micrometers and calipers.

  • Learn the Manufacturing Process and understand how the manufacturing floor flows and operates.

  • Working with tight tolerances within .0005”

  • Lean and 6S methodology and input.

  • Introduction to AS9100 and the process within the Quality Management System.

  • Materials Used – 300/400 Series Stainless Steel, Aluminum, 42 Alloy, Alnico-5.

Basic Qualifications:

  • Currently enrolled and working towards a high school diploma within Machine Technology, Manufacturing, Machining or a similar program of study.

  • Must be a US citizen or a US permanent resident.

  • Regular and predictable attendance.
