As an Industrial Electrician at Superior Tire & Rubber Corp, you play a crucial role in ensuring the efficient and safe operation of electrical systems within an organization. This role requires a deep understanding of electrical principles, systems, and components. The Electrical Specialist is responsible for installing, maintaining, troubleshooting, and repairing electrical equipment, as well as implementing and adhering to electrical safety standards.

 

Essential Job Functions:

* Installation and Maintenance:  * 

  • Install, inspect, and maintain electrical systems, components, and equipment.
  • Conduct routine inspections to identify potential issues and ensure compliance with electrical codes and regulations.
  • Collaborate with other departments to plan and execute electrical installations or upgrades.

* Troubleshooting and Repairs:*

  • Diagnose and troubleshoot electrical malfunctions and implement effective repair solutions.
  • Respond promptly to electrical emergencies and provide timely resolution to minimize downtime.
  • Keep detailed records of maintenance and repair activities.

Electrical Safety:

  • Implement and enforce electrical safety protocols to ensure a safe working environment.
  • Stay informed about and comply with local, state, and national electrical codes and regulations.
  • Conduct safety training sessions for staff to raise awareness and promote a culture of safety.

Testing and Calibration:

  • Perform testing and calibration of electrical systems to ensure optimal performance.
  • Use specialized tools and equipment to measure and analyze electrical parameters.

Documentation:

  • Maintain accurate records of electrical maintenance activities, repairs, and equipment specifications.
  • Generate reports on electrical system performance and suggest improvements or upgrades.

Training and Collaboration:

  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to share knowledge and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Collaborate with other departments, engineers, and contractors on projects that involve electrical systems.
  • Provide technical support and guidance to colleagues with less expertise in electrical systems.

Continuous Improvement:

  • Stay current with advancements in electrical technology and industry best practices.
  • Recommend and implement improvements to enhance the efficiency and reliability of electrical systems.

Supervisory Responsibilities:

  • This position has no direct supervisory responsibilities but does serve as a coach and mentor for other positions in the company.

Position Type/Expected Hours of Work:

  • Full Time Non-Exempt
  • Monday through Friday
  • Weekends as needed.
  • Required to work onsite 100% of the time.

Travel:

  • Limited travel in the Warren area

Work Environment:

  • While performing the duties of this job, the employee regularly works in a manufacturing environment.
    • Percentage of Office -- 5%
    • Percentage of Travel -- 5%
    • Percentage of Manufacturing and Distribution - 90%

Required and Experience:

  • High school diploma or equivalent plus 5 years of experience.
  • Associate degree OR Technical raining in maintenance electricity and 2 years relevant on the job experience.
  • Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering or a related field.
  • Electrical Journeyman Card
  • 5 years on the job experience nd training

  • Strong In-depth knowledge of electrical systems, components, and codes.
  • Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
  • Familiarity with electrical testing equipment and tools.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Attention to detail and a commitment to safety.
