Penske Supply Chain Coordinator in Warren, Michigan

This position performs all processes related to material follow up. Provides visibility to management by tracking, processing, auditing, researching and trouble-shooting issues specific to material follow up. Manage material flow from suppliers through to the parts distribution centers. Refers to operational standards and processes to make decisions impacting supplier ship dates and overall customer requirements. Interacts and owns relationship with suppliers on behalf of the customer to ensure parts are shipped on time. Position is based out of Warren Michigan.

This position is located onsite with our customer in Warren, MI. Candidate must be willing to work 3 days onsite with an expectation that there could be a need to work 5 days (M-F) onsite.

Shift:

Monday thru Friday 8:00am - 4:30pm

Major Responsibilities:

  • Monitor suppliers and perform follow up on parts to ensure shipment deadlines are met.

  • Timely and accurately communicate and document critical information to internal associates and the customers.

  • Ensure proper escalation is performed when supplier is not meeting ship dates.

  • Partner with team to communicate and driver performance standards.

  • Identify continuous improvement areas.

  • Other projects and tasks as assigned by supervisor.

Qualifications:

• High School diploma or equivalent required

• 1 year of Transportation Management experience preferred, with a focus on shipment coordination

• Must also be able to learn and regularly operate multiple company and customer transportation management and inventory systems.

• Ability to work independently, customer service, dealing with others, multi-tasking skills, organizational skills, team player, flexibility required, verbal & written communication skills, excellent with numbers and time management, strong problem solving skills required

• Advanced computer skills including Excel and Outlook required

• Experience using office tools such as MS Office or Google Suite

• Ability to work in non-climate controlled conditions required

• Regular, predictable, full attendance is an essential function of the job

• Willingness to travel as necessary, work the hours necessary to accomplish the job duties, work at the specific location required, complete Penske employment application, submit to a background investigation (to include past employment, education, and criminal history) and drug screening.
