Amentum Senior Logistician (Supply Chain Risk Management) in Warren, Michigan

Amentum is currently seeking a qualified candidate to serve as a Senior Logistician (Supply Chain Risk Management) in the Tank-Automotive and Armaments Command (TACOM). This position is currently hybrid, typically with one day weekly in the office at the Detroit Arsenal. This arrangement could change based on the requirements of the government client. Travel is not required. Other duties may be assigned to support client and contract deliverables.

Backgrounds in Logistics, Mechanical Engineering, or Operations/Operations Research are encouraged for this position. Logistics or engineering experience is not required.

Job Duties and Responsibilities:

Support a Program Management Team in TACOM by utilizing Government and Commercial Tools for:

Supply Chain Risk Management (SCRM); Assessing the risk of doing business with a company to the Army such as Foreign Ownership, Control or Influence, Reputational, Criminal or Regulatory and Financial.

Supply Chain Management (SCM) – can we get the right parts and raw materials to the right place at the right time.

Spearheading and authoring SCRM Assessments:

Companies that create the greatest risk.

Mitigation actions in support of Program Protection Planning (PPP).

Parts survey assessments: What parts have a demand but no supply and why, then work to resolve with other teams in the PEO.

Special Projects: Including items like reengineering with a wide variety (such as reengineering radiators), working with the depots for new technology equipment, action officer type projects (could be any TACOM related project).

Required Skills and Qualifications:

SECRET clearance not required for initial hire. Amentum will sponsor a SECRET security clearance, a positive adjudication/determination may be required for continued employment.

Bachelors Degree with 15+ years of automotive and supply chain related experience or Masters Degree and 10+ years of automotive and supply chain related experience.

Ability to talk and interact with people proactively.

Not afraid to talk to customers and suppliers.

Critical thinker.

Corrective actions training and/or understanding.

Program Management (PM) awareness.

Able to move fast and adjust quickly.

Able to multitask.

Preferred Qualifications:

Masters's degree and 15+ years of experience with military or government related duties.

Previous experience working in Tank-Automotive and Armaments Command (TACOM).

Previous PM duties.

Automotive background.
