Wood PLC Electrical Controls Engineer IS in Warren, Michigan

JOB DESCRIPTION The ideal candidate must be fluent with PLC ladder logic (Rockwell GLx, CLx & PLC5), and have automotive or conveyor or comparable controls experience. Must have proven track record of logic writing, the ability to diagnose problems and make PLC program changes as needed. Demonstrated troubleshooting skills are absolutely necessary. This is shift work, in need of Night Shift (6p4:30a, SunF). RESPONSIBILITIES * Quickly diagnose root cause of problem(s) through a PLC Programming station and assist Maintenance to solve and resume production * Make PLC program changes to maintain production as requested * Must be fluent with Rockwell Control Logix processors, RS Logix 5000 Studio, PLC5 * AB VFD, servo, vision, robot experience a plus * Utilize client PLC/HMI/Diagnostic Libraries (AOIs, FBs, UDT, Faceplates, etc.) and modifying as required QUALIFICATIONS * Bachelor's or Technical degree or certificate in a controls related field (Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science or equivalent) * OR Five years of applicable experience in an industrial environment that includes design, debug, startup, and standby of conveyor controls * Must be detail oriented, capable of writing and modifying logic in conformance to client standards * Experience with conveyor systems including: Skid, Skillet, Pallet, Friction Drive, EMS ++ * Must be willing to travel up to 25% * Willing to work various shifts and O.T * Logical thinker & problem solver * Organized & detail oriented and self-motivated with "Can Do" mindset * Strong verbal and written communication skills
