Registered Health Information Technician (RHIT)

315 Health & Hive is currently seeking a Registered Health Information Technician (RHIT) to join our team. As an RHIT, you will be responsible for managing and maintaining patient health information and medical records. You will play a key role in ensuring the accuracy, accessibility, and security of patient health information, as well as coding and categorizing patient data for healthcare reimbursement purposes. The ideal candidate will have excellent organizational skills, attention to detail, and knowledge of health information management systems and industry regulations.

Responsibilities:

  • Ensure accurate and complete medical record documentation

  • Maintain the confidentiality and security of medical records

  • Manage release of information requests from patients, healthcare providers, and insurance companies

  • Collaborate with healthcare professionals to ensure accurate and timely coding and documentation

  • Stay updated on changes and developments in health information management and coding practices

  • Aid in auditing our in house coding department

  • Provide training and education to healthcare staff on medical record documentation and coding

Requirements

  • Registered Health Information Technician (RHIT) certification

  • Having a CPC in addition to RHIT is preferred

  • Minimum of 10 years of experience in health information management or medical coding

  • Strong knowledge of health information management principles and coding systems (ICD-10, CPT)

  • Proficiency in electronic health record systems and other health information technology tools

  • Excellent attention to detail and accuracy

  • Strong organizational and time management skills

  • Ability to work effectively in a team environment

  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills

  • Strong ability to work independently with strong decision making skills
