Job Posting Description

KBR is seeking an Aerospace/ Mechanical Engineer for the Air Force F-15 System Program Office, located at Robins AFB, GA.

Job Duties:

  1. Develop, test, and implement mechanical system improvements as identified by reliability reports, field user reports, and operational command requirements. Improvement projects will include configuration and design changes to environmental controls, crew egress, hydraulics, fuels, engine start, power generation, and flight controls systems.

  2. Development and documentation of airworthiness requirements along with supporting artifacts.

  3. Perform OSS&E tasks to address mechanical system safety, suitability, and effectiveness warfighter requirements. Tasks include but not limited to engineering evaluation, analysis, and recommended disposition of AFMC 107T/202 and DLA 339 technical assistance requests for F-15 mechanical systems in addition to identified projects as workload permits.

  4. Conduct all necessary technical reviews including Preliminary/Critical Design Reviews and Functional/Physical Configuration Audits as required to support design efforts Regularly update information for affected stakeholders (program managers, Defense Logistics Agency, Air Combat Command, field units) to ensure supply requirements and lead times are properly incorporated into fielding recommendations.

  5. Provide periodic reports to upper management of project status and direction.

  6. This will be a customer interfacing position and will be located on Robins AFB. Candidates will be expected to work on base and maintain regular professional relationships with customer.

  7. Some travel may be required (up to 20%)

    Requirements

  8. Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Aerospace, or Electrical Engineering

  9. 2 or more years experience in the aerospace industry

  10. Proficient with Microsoft Office software including Microsoft Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.

  11. Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to effectively interact with customers at all levels within the organization.

  12. Must be a US Citizen

    More qualified candidates will possess

  13. Knowledge of U.S. Government, DoD, USAF and/or USN technology and system development processes and policies to include digital engineering, systems engineering, test & evaluation, and functional disciplines contributing to weapon system research and development.

  14. Military aviation systems experience

  15. Proficient in the use of Air Force technical manuals, supply systems, and maintenance policies and regulations.

  16. Proficient in performing engineering and configuration analysis amongst different aircraft.
