Riverside Community Care Per Diem/Relief Registered Nurse - RN in Waltham, Massachusetts

Great opportunity to join Riverside Community Care as a Registered Nurse for our amazing Developmental and Cognitive Services Division!

In this vital role, the Registered Nurse is responsible for monitoring the health and safety of identified individuals.

The Registered Nurse will:

  • assess the health care needs of the people identified and coordinate with the staff and outside providers regarding the individuals’ medical needs

  • educate and train individuals and staff to increase their awareness of health related issues to promote optimal health for all individuals

  • monitor the medication administration system to ensure the safety of the people we serve in the division

Required Skills

  • Excellent written and verbal skills in the English language

  • Basic computer fluency, including Microsoft Office, required.

  • Valid driver’s license and available, dependable transportation required for local travel

Required Experience

  • Current valid license to practice as a Registered Nurse in Massachusetts

  • Certified Developmental Disabilities Nurse (CDDN) preferred

  • Minimum of four years of nursing experience required - with two years in community health and two years of nursing case management preferred; Alternatively must have a background of at least two years (full-time) or four years (part-time) in the field of human services working with people living with Intellectual/Developmental Disabilities, and/or Acquired Brain Injury/Traumatic Brain Injury.

  • Knowledge of the needs of individuals with developmental disabilities and traumatic brain injuries

  • Previous supervisory experience preferred

  • Certified MAP trainer preferred
