How you will make an impact

The Video and Multimedia Production Specialist is part of a team of communications professionals who develop and deliver impactful communications to engage Thermo Fisher Scientific partners around the world.

We are seeking a skilled and experienced professional who has experience managing a large company’s multimedia and digital video program. The ideal candidate will have a proven ability to communicate a vision for multimedia pieces, taking into consideration business requirements, target audiences, timelines and budgets. You will also have strong project management experience and ability to juggle multiple priorities at the same time. In this role, you will report to the Senior Manager of Video Communications and be a member of the team responsible for the analytics and operations for the Global Communications team. You will work across the Communications function and our businesses to bring the Thermo Fisher story to life through video and multimedia furthering our thought leadership pillars around our Mission, Innovation and impact.

What You Will Do

  • Responsible for all aspects of planning, production, and management of our onsite video studio

  • Requires strong project management skills as well as hands-on filming and editing experience, with the ability to manage the production logistics and details for multimedia projects as well as live corporate events

  • Hands-on global role with responsibility for supporting communications strategy across multiple channels both internal and external

  • Responsibilities include supporting a growing need for video content, expanding usage of our studio, as well as managing the production of complex video campaigns

  • Works closely with our Company Leadership Team, as well as business and functional partners

  • Produce and implement all stages of video and multimedia production from concept through delivery

  • Shoots, edits and coordinates all aspects of video production including filming, audio, lighting, prompting, composition, live streaming, directing talent, postproduction, and other areas as needed

  • Manages the day-to-day operations of our video studio in Waltham, including filming direct-to-camera messages, interviews, and media appearances

  • Develops, manages, and produces a variety of complex video programs

  • Directs both in-house resources and creative agencies to create compelling and effective productions

  • Develops and cultivates relationships with senior internal customers, subject-matter experts, and staff

  • Consults with senior leaders and other internal customers to analyze their needs, provide recommendations, and develop appropriate deliverables

  • Promotes use of video platforms as critical communication channels

  • Provides equipment acquisition and business process recommendations to ensure efficient operations

What You Will Bring

  • Bachelor’s degree in Broadcast Communications, Television Production, Mass Communications, or related field. 8+ years or relevant experience, preferably in television/video production environment. Portfolio of award-winning products

  • Direct experience leading or driving a company’s multimedia program, digital video, and a proven ability to communicate vision for multimedia pieces, taking into consideration business requirements, target audiences, timelines and budgets

  • Strong project management skills with a proven ability to successfully plan and direct complex projects to achieve business goals

  • Proficiency and hands-on experience in all aspects of video production, including filming, lighting, audio, prompting, composition, live streaming, and directing talent. Photography skills a plus

  • Ability to work with senior leadership and C-suite company executives on events, communications initiatives, and multimedia development

  • Must be able to work collaboratively across business teams and the Communications function to conceptualize and produce high-caliber video productions and event

  • Strong working knowledge and proficiency in video editing and graphics in Adobe creative suite, especially Premiere Pro, After Effects, and Photoshop

  • Must be able to work well under pressure and deliver a quality product on time and within budget

  • Demonstrated business maturity and professionalism

  • Good written and verbal communication skills

  • Knowledge of a variety of web environments and standard social media channels

  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office applications and familiarity with both Windows and Macintosh platforms

  • Ability to manage direct and indirect teams from multiple locations

  • Ability to work in a fast-pace, dynamic environment and respond to changing schedules and priorities

  • Detailed knowledge of industry trends and emerging technology

  • Ability to take educated risks, try new ideas, and foster innovation; an eagerness to learn

  • Demonstrated attention to detail

  • Works well and stays calm under pressure

  • Adaptable and possesses the ability to pivot when needed

  • Willingness to travel, both domestically and internationally, as needed for on-location shoots and video production (less than 10% per year)
