Preferably, the candidate will have experience in one or more of the following subject matters: geotechnical engineering, excavation support for underground construction (tunnels and shafts), or trenchless technologies. Responsibilities: Numerical analysis/modelling for design and construction of underground structures; Managing tasks and mentoring junior staff; Assist with geotechnical design and reporting (engineering, data, and baseline reports); Review contractor submittals; Work on a variety of office and field assignments, with a focus on geotechnical modelling, development of calculations, technical memoranda that present the analysis and basis of design, drawings, and/or specifications. Qualifications: MS in Geotechnical or Structural Engineering; PhD a plus; Strong analytical skills with knowledges of soil and rock mechanics, ground classification, underground structure design and construction Familiarity with geotechnical analysis software, including but not limited to, FLAC, FLAC3D, UDEC, or 3DEC, etc. Ability to independently perform ground-structure interaction numerical analysis for design and construction of underground structures Ability to independently perform soil-structure interaction (SSI) seismic analysis a plus Ability to manage a number of concurrent assignments and priorities and supervise junior staff on project tasks.
