Elevance Health Oncology Practice Enablement Clinician in Walnut Creek, California

Oncology Practice Enablement Clinician

Location : This position will work a hybrid model (remote and office). The ideal candidate will live within 50 miles from one of our Elevance Health PulsePoint locations.

The Oncology Practice Enablement Clinician is responsible and accountable for partnering and building critical relationships with oncology practices (providers and administrative staff) to drive success with key strategic solutions that involve practice collaboration and enablement to improve member care quality and value. Serves as a strategic solution lead for Oncology and Palliative Care, and in doing so, liaises with providers and other internal stakeholders to develop and implement field strategy, tactics, and resources and training. Provide clinical input to inform solutions designed to improve care quality and value for members with cancer and serious illnesses. Also serves as a subject matter expert for contracting efforts or for highly specialized components of the contracting process, or as part of oncology solution or program design across the organization.

How you will make an impact:

  • Independently manages relationships with provider practices by providing orientation, on-going training, practice enablement, transformation and support.

  • Conducts regular clinically-focused, cross-functional strategic committee meetings, with focus on assessment and evaluation of practice specific quality and key performance metrics to identify opportunities for improvement.

  • Serve as the subject matter expert for provider practices on company programs for all lines of business and other care management initiatives.

  • Maintain understanding of oncology and palliative care clinical domain and industry changes, as well as company core quality/value programs and solutions.

  • Partners with key departments such as Medical Benefits Management, Carelon Health, CarelonRx, Network, Total Population Health, Provider Solutions, Provider Enablement, Payment Innovation, Claims, etc.

  • Serves as a liaison with state and regional provider contracting account managers.

  • Maintains understanding of industry practice and trends for oncology and palliative care.

  • Participates in identifying new solutions.

  • Serves in a leadership capacity by leading associate resources and special projects/initiatives.

Minimum Requirements:

  • Requires BA/BS in a clinical field and a minimum of 5 years of oncology practice and physician dynamic and workflow experience; or any combination of education and experience, which will provide an equivalent background.

  • Experience with practice transformation/quality improvement, revenue cycle management, quality and efficiency metrics and data analytics is also required.

  • Travels to worksite and other locations as necessary.

Preferred Skills, Capabilities, and Experiences:

  • MS or other advanced clinical degree; clinical license; experience working within oncology care setting strongly preferred.

  • Experience creating and delivering presentations strongly preferred.

  • Excellent verbal/written communication skills highly preferred.

  • Excellent with multitasking and time management experience highly preferred.

  • Experience with Microsoft office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint) highly preferred.

For candidates working in person or remotely in the below locations, the salary* range for this specific position is $100,320 to $180,576
