Maintenance Mechanic - A Pay Rate: $38.00 Location: City of Industry, CA Shift: Monday - Friday, (Typically work OT on Saturdays an on Sundays specifically as needed) 2nd (2:30 pm - 11:00pm): $2.00 Differential 3rd (10:30pm - 7:00pm) Starts Sunday night, will work OT as needed: $2.25 Shift Differential

Job Description: Our Maintenance Mechanics work under minimal supervision to perform PM tasks such as troubleshooting, maintenance, repairs and installations in a heavy industrial manufacturing environment. This will include, but not limited to, the following:

  • Strong Knowledge of Hydraulics and Pneumatics.
  • Knowledge of AC/DC electrical drives and systems (480V - 3-phase).
  • Ability to troubleshoot PLC systems (Allen Bradley).
  • Carry out complete overhaul to equipment, install new hydraulic hoses, valves, pumps and cylinders.
  • Basic knowledge of routine maintenance on hydraulic systems such as Oil Gear, Rex Roth, Racine, Vickers, etc.
  • Knowledge of industrial electrical, including advanced electrical (three phase 460 volt and higher) design, sizing of components and installations, etc.
  • Carries out preventative maintenance procedures and checks on furnaces, presses and other equipment following work order procedures.
  • Disassembles devices to gain access to and remove defective parts.
  • Adjusts functional parts of devices and control instruments.
  • Inspects mobile equipment such as manipulators, forging presses, furnaces, overhead cranes, and blast cleaning equipment.
  • Starts devices to test their performance.
  • Checks and fill lubricators on air lines, adjust flow as necessary, check and fill hydraulic reservoir as necessary, inspect hydraulic piping and hoses for condition and leaks, repair or replace as necessary.

Required Skills:

  • Ability to read and interpret documents.
  • Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.
  • Knowledge and hands on experience in the use of basic mechanical repair tools and gages such as volt-ohm meter, strobe tachometer, air tools, cutting/brazing torch, arc welder, soldering iron, micrometers, calipers, timing lights, compression gauges, pressure gauges, precision alignment tooling, drills, air grinders, electronic timing lights, hammers, saws, manual and air impact wrenches, etc.
  • Required to frequently work near moving mechanical parts, be exposed to oils, other cutting fluids and vibration (with proper PPE).
