Overview

FAIR-RITE PRODUCTS CORP. - LOCATED IN WALLKILL, NEW YORK

Come be a part of our R&D team! We are building our R&D lab staff at our production facility in Wallkill, NY.

Days and Hours:

Monday to Friday, 7:30am - 4:00pm

Responsibilities

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Test and evaluate raw materials including physical characteristics, electrical characteristics and chemical compositions.

  • Test samples and manufactured products to verify conformity to specifications.

  • Record all test results on standardized forms and write test reports describing procedures used.

  • Apply DOE and other statistically acceptable practices for optimization of existing and new processes.

  • Set-up, adjust and operate lab equipment and instruments such as ball mills, drying ovens, hydraulic presses, XRF, surface area analyzer and computer control equipment.

  • Coordinate maintenance and repair of equipment and systems used.

  • Use Design Control and APQP procedures, DFMEA’s and PFMEA’s where applicable.

  • Record, compute, analyze, and report data including any recommendations.

  • Develop and validate specifications and capability of processes.

  • Evaluate defects to determine root cause, and provide recommendations for improvement.

  • Follow all relevant Quality and/or Environmental standards to which Fair-Rite is certified.

  • Follow all O.S.H.A. standards and the Fair-Rite Safety and Health Policy

  • Other engineering duties may be assigned as necessary

  • Other non-essential duties may be assigned as necessary.

Qualifications

Qualifications:

To perform this job successfully, and individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required. Minimum Education / Experience requirements:

  • A.S. in Chemistry/Material Science or other related science; equivalent experience; combination of education and experience.

    Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

  • Strong analytical skills to collect and interpret data for making needed decisions.

  • Strong understanding of ceramics and metal oxides.

  • Strong PC / computer skills & intermediate Microsoft Excel proficiency.

  • Strong mechanical aptitude and abilities.

  • Design Control, APQP, DFMEA’s and PFMEA’s a plus.

  • Thorough knowledge of lab equipment, instrumentation, and safety procedures.

  • Excellent written and verbal communications.

  • Ability to work closely and collaborate with other departments.

  • Ability to use advanced production quality planning and design skills are recommended.
