What youll do

The development environment of SAP BTP ABAP provides customers the possibility to extend products such as SAP S/4HANA public and private Cloud with their custom code and partners to implement and operate their own SaaS solutions by leveraging the SAP BTP ABAP Environment. You will be part of the ABAP Enablement Team in Walldorf (Germany). We do not own products or technology in our team. You may now wonder: If there is no product in your team Will there at all be the need to develop, deliver and test software? Absolutely, YES!

As part of BTP ABAP, our mission is enabling customers and partners to develop and operate their custom code without interaction with SAP. Therefore, we slip into the shoes of a customer and play through the development process and operation of a custom app or implement and operate a SaaS solution as a partner, for instance. This comprises implementing and running non-trivial transactional Fiori apps in the cloud with on premise integration. We validate new functionality provided by the BTP ABAP teams, verify if it is consumable, make recommendations to development teams, how to improve functionality or how to improve operational capabilities like troubleshooting, compile and publish best practices for our customers and partners, support customer queries and follow-up on incidents created by us.

Depending on the reproduced customer business scenario your development tasks cover the entire Stack, from backend programming tasks (SQL, object-oriented programming ) to UI (Fiori Apps). A special part of our job is that many diverse frameworks that BTP ABAP is shipping, are reviewed and integrated into our reference application for the first time E2E. You will be the first productive consumer of many newly shipped features and will help to increase quality of these shipments and ensure smooth integration and operations capabilities for later use by our customers and partners.
