The role!

Position: Skills Instructor (Seasonal or Part-Time)                                                                                        Program: Day Services or Career Services

Location: Wakefield, MA | Woburn, MA | Beverly, MA

Pay rate: $18 per hour

Hours: Seasonal Full-Time and Part-time schedules available

Benefits of Working for us!

  • Pay increases after 1 year and 3 years of service, pending performance evaluations

  • 3 weeks’ vacation, 1 week sick time, and 12 holidays for new full-time employees 

  • Tuition reimbursement eligibility after 90 days of employment

    Summary & Responsibilities

    If you're a college student home for the summer and looking to gain experience - great! If you work multiple jobs or are only available certain hours in the day - no problem! If you would like to work on a seasonal or temporary basis - sure! We would love to have you apply and join our team as a Day Program and/or Career Services Skills Instructor!

    Day Program Skills Instructors are responsible for teaching adaptive daily living skills to Individuals with developmental disabilities through classroom and community services.

  • Think creatively and adapt your own interests (art, music, cooking, health & fitness) to develop curriculum to teach individuals new skills

  • Mentor Individuals, assess needs, create and implement Individual Support Plans (ISP) to enhance independence

  • Plan and oversee community-based activities (movies, picnics, bowling, mini-golf)

  • Provide personal care and assistance to individuals consistent with individual needs as they strive to reach their goals

    Career Services Skills Instructors are responsible for supporting Individuals with developmental disabilities enhance their work skills and find employment opportunities.

  • Provide direct support and assist individuals in gaining community employment by helping them learn specific skills both in-house and in the community, and developing relationships with area businesses

  • Create and participate in community-based activities 

  • Provide personal care and assistance to individuals consistent with individual needs as they strive to reach their goals

    Qualifications

  • High School diploma required (BA degree in Human Services or related field preferred)

  • At least 1 year of experience supporting adults with developmental disabilities is preferred

  • A passion and dedication to supporting our people is a must

  • Valid Driver’s License and acceptable driving record

  • Must pass company background and reference checks
