Description

We are looking for a Staff Accountant. Candidates looking for strong compensation, excellent benefits, and career advancement should consider this position. This company, based in the Wahiawa, Hawaii area, offers a challenging and multi-faceted opportunity where effort is rewarded. To succeed in this role, you will need to prepare journal entries, monthly and year-end closings, bank reconciliation, fixed asset maintenance, and general ledger reconciliation and be responsible for many aspects of internal reporting during the monthly close. The ideal candidate for this Staff Accountant role will be comfortable participating in compliance, interacting with our external auditors for quarterly reviews and annual audits, and reviewing schedules reporting processes. This is a position you will thrive in, if you have a complex understanding of Financial Statements, Cash Flow projections, and Budgets. How you will make an impact

  • Support the month end, quarter end and year end closing process, which includes monthly financial close workbook preparation

  • Upon request, take part in special projects and impromptu reporting

  • Compose analyses for income statements and monthly balance sheets for management reporting

  • Intercompany billings, transactions, and reconciliation

  • Periodic maintenance and reconciliation of journal entries

  • In-depth experience with reconciling month end balance sheet accounts

  • Oversee depreciation, fixed asset ledgers, and reconciliation

  • Maintain capital lease and monthly payment schedules

  • Maintain, implement, and adhere to internal controls while ensuring that accounting procedures comply with GAAP

  • Organize and review a variety of financial data, reporting it in a way that is useful and understandable

  • Compose journal entries and conduct the month end close with minimal supervision

  • Partake in a variety of department-wide initiatives

  • Assemble journal entries and thorough account reconciliations that include, but are not limited to, cash, prepaid expenses, and payroll

    Requirements - Great attention to detail

  • Ability to work within spreadsheets and databases

  • Experience working in a dynamic and changing company environment a plus

  • Takes action on items beyond formal job responsibilities

  • Strong organizational, written and verbal communication skills required

  • Skilled with ERP systems

  • Remarkable analytical, quantitative and social skills

  • 5+ years of recent and relevant accounting experience

  • Proficient with spreadsheets and databases

  • Command of reconciliations

  • Comprehensive knowledge of GAAP Accounting

  • General ledger experience

  • Strong familiarity with Accounts Payable (AP)

  • BA/BS or equivalent in Accounting, Finance or Economics

  • Ability to meet deadlines
