Production Worker, Material Handler Essential Duties : Safety:

  • Lifting - proper and safe technique to maneuver and lift up to 50 pounds
  • Forklift license maintained current, daily checklists performed, seatbelt worn, safety-minded operation

Quality:

  • Understands how one's job contributes to the success of the organization as a whole
  • Works in teams and independently to produce quality products and meet production schedule.
  • Memorize and stock all various labels, UPCs and all parts needed to assemble a finished product.

Communication:

  • Operate a walkie-talkie to exchange information with supervisor, set-up, maintenance, floor person
  • Suggest improvements in work methods and procedures directly to supervisor
  • Communicates production progress information to the next shift
  • Technology - use scan gun to ensure proper tracking of production, use radio to respond to production needs

Equipment Operation:

  • Forklift use:
    • Safely and effectively move loads and cartons
    • Place in-process stock in staging area
  • Radio - timely response to production needs
  • Scan gun - properly use to track production
  • Skid wrapper - replace plastic rolls and operate to wrap skids

Tasks:

  • Take finished products away from the machine.
  • Scan ticket on skid(s) to keep track of production.
  • Be aware of time remaining for a run or job change.
  • Move skids of boxes from one place to another
  • Operate skid wrapper and replace rolls of plastic wrap.
  • Ensure each operator is supplied with proper materials to run machines.
  • Place in-process stock in staging area for warehouse pick-up.
  • All other duties as assigned
