FOX44 is looking for an MMJ who can develop, pitch, and deliver a great story online and over the air. We want someone who knows how to take the big story and make it bigger. Our focus is on breaking news digitally and our website more vital to Central Texans. Our MMJs are the key to making this happen. We need MMJs who are ready to make this happen in a clear and concise manner.
The Multimedia Journalist Reporter produces, reports, shoots, writes, voices, edits and feeds news production content for all platforms in a manner that is clear, engaging and meaningful to news consumers.
The successful candidate will have strong news writing skills with an emphasis on relevance and accuracy. Candidate must maintain knowledge of current events, online trends, and social media. Familiarity with ENPS, Adobe Premiere, and BitCentral is a plus. This is not a programming/technical position but knowledge of those skills is helpful in the position.
Prefer a bachelor’s degree in Journalism, Communications or a related field. Priority will be given to candidates with reporting and web experience. Equal Opportunity Employer/Minorities/Females/Disabled/Veterans. Pre-employment background check required. Have a clean driving record.
Must be able to sit, conduct telephone conversations, use electronic mail, write letters and memos, conduct face-to-face discussions with individuals or groups, make decisions with limited supervision that may impact results of station and/or co-workers, work in close proximity to others, work outdoors occasionally in all weather conditions, and work indoors in environmentally controlled conditions. In addition, must be able to lift, set up and operate equipment weighing up to 45 pounds, and to handle, control or feel objects, tools or controls. Repetitive movements are required. Work may be conducted in extremely bright or inadequate lighting conditions. Be flexible to work any schedule.
