Position Summary

Lochridge-Priest is locally owned and operated, and is the largest provider of residential and commercial heating and air-conditioning services and commercial plumbing services in Central Texas. Our company is a trusted partner within our communities for 60 years. We have also more recently expanded our electrical and building automation service areas. With offices in Waco, Temple, Fort Worth and Corsicana and over 500 dedicated employees we’re dedicated to serving your home, business, and industrial comfort needs. We work as a team to deliver best in class service to our customers. This position is responsible for performing on screen take- offs and generating reliable, timely, and quality job estimates for the commercial electrical business area.

    Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Perform advanced takeoffs and input utilizing the estimating software.

  • Review all bid documents to determine the complete project scope.

  • Prepare and present estimate documentation, including gaps in available data.

  • Read and interpret plans, proposals and other documentations to create bids.

  • Track and analyze data to reduce gaps between estimates and the actual cost.

  • Review completed estimates and proposals for thoroughness, accuracy, value engineering alternatives and compliance with strategic goals.

  • Attend job turnover meetings, and assure preparation of job turnover meeting materials. Attend job closing meetings.

  • Be part of an estimating team working on larger projects.

  • Review material pricing provided by purchasing and suppliers, and adjusts estimating database and procedures accordingly.

  • Gather details and maintain current market data necessary to accurately estimate construction, material and soft costs associated with project construction.

  • Continuously follow up on all bid projects and accurately forecast future awards/probabilities.

    Skills

  • Advanced knowledge of all standard electrical systems in commercial, industrial and institutional construction projects.

  • Deep understanding of electrical construction bid process and on screen takeoff platforms.

  • Proficient in Microsoft Office and estimating software.

  • Excellent customer service skills with desire to exceed customer expectations.

  • Good analytical skills and attention to detail with ability to read and interpret blueprints, plans, and manuals.

  • Three or more years’ experience in electrical systems and equipment.

  • Ability to work independently in a timely manner, making sure job is done correctly the first time.

    Additional Qualifications

  • Experience bidding high-rise, commercial, residential, and mixed use buildings, design builds, tenant finish-outs, and low voltage projects.

  • Work as part of our team to ensure customer satisfaction

  • Valid social security number

  • Must be able to pass drug test(s) as required by company

  • Safety leader and wears appropriate PPE while on any job site

  • Observe all company procedures and safety rules

  • Maintain accurate time records and send to payroll when required

  • Neat, professional appearance
