Fly-in Fly-out Diesel engine technician

Description

We are looking for a talented Diesel engine technician (Fly-in Fly out) to join our Distribution business in Wabush NL.

Must meet the rules and commitments of the FIFO program. We are looking for an on-site technician able to perform engine repairs and commit to performing other repairs to customer equipment (bumper to bumper) with great organizational and leadership skills. This candidate will be able to work with little to no supervision on our mining site.

Housing is provided by the compagnie, tools and truck provided as well. Meal allowance provided.

Working schedule: 14 days ON and 14 days OFF. Salary up to 62$ hourly.

In this role, you will make an impact in the following ways:

  • Completes preventative maintenance and/or basic repair activities on Cummins products at a single customer site with minimal direction.

  • Engages with customer in a courteous and professional manner.

  • Escalates unresolved issues to more experienced On Site Technicians and/or Supervisor.

  • Performs preventative maintenance activities as per documented schedules and standards on Cummins products at a customer’s location.

  • Completes required documentation

  • Ensure adherence to all relevant Health Safety & Environmental policies, procedures and legislation.

In order to be successful in this role you will need the following:

Education, Licenses, Certifications

  • Engine Technician or Power Generation certification

  • Vocational diploma from relevant technical institution

  • Current relevant electrical certification (optional)

  • Locally valid driving permit.

  • This position may require licensing for compliance with export controls or sanctions regulations.

Experience

  • Intermediate level of workshop related experience required.

  • Intermediate level knowledge of and/or experience with Cummins products

  • High Voltage/ Low Voltage experience (optional)

(Intermediate):

  • Completes complex internal engine repairs

  • Performs engine overhauls with limited direct supervision

(Advanced):

  • Ability to troubleshoot with limited/no support from diagnostic tools

  • Larger more complicated engine rebuilds

  • Mentor junior technicians including technical support and documentation

Compensation and Benefits
