Schedule Weekly Hours: 24 Job Description: The beautician as part of the health care team, is responsible for the special hair care of residents including, but not limited to cutting, permanent, sets, styling and coloring. MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES Coordinate and schedule appointments for residents Provide a variety of services to residents which include perming, sets, styling and coloring hair. Cut and trim women's and men's hair and beards Style hair consistent with residents' request and preference Promote friendly and positive atmosphere in delivery of services Independently run and operate all aspects the business of salon operations Perform additional tasks as required SCOPE OF THE JOB Age Specific Population Served: Pediatric (1 - 12 years) Adolescent (13 - 17 years) Adult (18 - 64 years) Geriatric (65 years & older) POSITION QUALIFICATIONS Education and Learning: Required - High school diploma or equivalent degree. Completion of a technical college accredited beautician program. Work Experience: Preferred, but not required. Skills and Knowledge: A professional, capable presence and strong verbal and written communication skills are a must. Ability to learn new technical skills related to the position in order to maintain satisfactory performance and the ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships by using appropriate interpersonal skills.
