South Dakota Soybean Processors Dryer Technician - Will Train in Volga, South Dakota

TOP PAY - DRYER TECHNICIAN - (will train)

During a standard shift, the Dryer Technician monitors computerized controls and adjusts equipment that regulate the drying, cracking and cleaning of soybeans in preparation for the crush and extraction process.The Dryer Technician works four, 12-hour shifts, with four days off, then rotates from days to nights ($2 night shift differential).SDSP maintains a family oriented, casual work environment where each employee is valued.   1. Operate equipment to properly dry, stress crack and clean beans in preparation for the crush process.
  2. Complete all required paperwork pertaining to the dryer and pre-clean process.
  3. Sample and perform flash test on oil tanks to ensure proper Hexane residual.
  4. Measure all bean bins, receiving and day bins.
  5. Complete daily scale check and notify management of any issues.
  6. Communicate any problems with equipment or safety concerns within work area.
  7. Maintain all areas in accordance with SDSP sanitary standards.
  8. Comply with SDSPs Safe Quality Food (SQF) food safety program and polices.
  9. Perform duties outside normal responsibilities as needed to support the team and overall organizational goals.
  10. Be a good steward of company resources.

Basic Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Basic math skills
  • Basic computer skills including entering data into a spreadsheet and utilizing email
  • Dependable, self-motivated, and able to work independently to achieve a common goal

Physical Requirements

Must Possess the Ability to Do the Following Frequently:

  • Bend Squat Climb Ladders and Stairs
  • Kneel Stand Walk
  • Handle Objects Reach Above Shoulder Level Push/Pull
  • Carry/Lift 25 - 50 lbs.

Must Possess the Ability to Do the Following Occasionally:

  • Crawl Sit Use Fine Finger Movements Carry/Lift Over 50 lbs.
