Qualifications:

5+ years of experience in accounting

2+ years of experience with accounts payable

Experience in supervising/ training/ leading a team

Experience with month-end, journal entries, and reconciliations

Job Description

Produce and document all journal entries required for the close process, including prepaid expense amortization, inventory entries, and other scheduled journal entries.

Responsible for bank reconciliations and account reconciliation schedules.

Assist in producing error-free accounting reports and presenting their results.

Analyze financial information and summarize financial status.

Spot errors and suggest ways to improve efficiency and spending.

Review and recommend modifications to accounting systems and procedures.

Participate in financial standards setting and the forecast process.

Provide input into the department’s goal-setting process.

Support the preparation of financial statements and the production of the budget according to schedule.

Responsible for filing sales tax returns and property tax returns.

Assist with sales tax audits and property tax audits.

Support month-end and year-end close processes.

Develop and document business processes and accounting policies to maintain and strengthen internal controls.

Ensure compliance with GAAP principles.

Participate in periodic physical inventory counts and reconciliations.

Assist accounts payable with the preparation and approval of annual 1099’s for vendors.

Provide oversight over the accounts receivable and accounts payable close processes, verifying, ensuring all allocations are up to date, posting, and reconciling accounts receivables and payables.

Liaise with the Assistant and the team to improve financial procedures.
