The Manufacturing Technician 1 for Leica Biosystems is responsible for assembling mechanical and optical components.

This position is part of the production team located in Vista, CA and is onsite.

You will be a part of the Production Operations team and report to the Manager of Manufacturing responsible for working to assemble scanners and related products. If you thrive in a multifunctional, fast paced role and want to work to build a world-class organization—read on.

In this role you will have the opportunity to:

  • Perform all steps required to assemble scanners and related products.

  • Route cable and harness assemblies.

  • Build, test, and align optical sub-assemblies.

  • Complete visual and mechanical inspections of components.

  • Perform basic troubleshooting to determine the cause of system failures.

  • Suggest redlines and update procedures as needed.

    The essential requirements of the job include:

  • High School diploma or equivalent or in lieu of High School diploma, willing to accept 2+ years’ work experience in a manufacturing environment.

  • Basic computer skills (i.e., Microsoft Outlook, Word, Excel, Google docs).

  • Ability to learn and understand technical information related to our products offered.

    It would be a plus if you also possess previous experience in:

  • 1+ year’s assembly experience in electromechanical production environment, ideally in medical device.

  • Identifying product and process issues. Clearly proposing and communicating improvements.

The hourly rate for this role is $22-24/hour. This is the rate that we in good faith believe is the possible compensation for this role at the time of posting. We may ultimately pay more or less than this rate and it may be modified in the future.

This job is also eligible for bonus/incentive pay.
