Description

Job Title:Corporate Accountant

Department:Accounting

Reports to: Controller

Classification:Exempt

Location:GWST – Vista, CA

Travel:Little to no Travel Required

Job Summary:The Corporate Accountant assists the Controller in all aspects of plant accounting. Prepare monthly general journal entries, general ledger account reconciliations and accounts payable as well as accounts receivable processing.

Supervisory Responsibilities:

  • None

Duties/Responsibilities:

  • Perform daily accounting and reporting activities regarding general ledger maintenance

  • Perform analyses and prepare accounting journal entries related to numerous areas (prepaids, accruals, payroll, inventory, etc.)

  • Create and post invoices and other necessary billing documents

  • Perform general billing work, which may include entering data and maintaining records, invoices, and supporting documents of amounts due for items purchased

  • Review purchase orders, receivers and match with vendor invoices

  • Prepare and run weekly disbursement process

  • Assist in the monthly closing process

  • Provide detailed analyses and explanations of transactions

  • Allocate customer receipts

  • Customer/vendor interaction for collecting past dues and resolving billing issues

Education and Experience:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting

  • 3-5 years general ledger accounting experience

  • Advanced Excel skills and the ability to learn new technologies

  • Experience with (Infor) Visual and/or Xtuple is a plus

Required Skills/Abilities:

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills

  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills

  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related software

Physical Requirements:

  • Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer.

  • Light work that includes moving objects up to 20 pounds at times.
