OSF Healthcare Ultrasound Technologist in United States

Under the direction of the radiologist, performs general and vascular ultrasound exams as qualified at a level not requiring constant supervision of technical detail. Performs and records two-dimensional ultrasound diagnostic tests of patients’ internal organs and vascular structures. In doing so, obtains information about normal and abnormal anatomy used to diagnosis disease. Ensure ultrasound tests are of acceptable quality and records results. Demonstrates the knowledge and skills necessary to provide patient care that is appropriate to the ages of the patients served.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

Work requires a professional level of knowledge of ultrasound techniques and procedures as a level that generally can be acquired by completion of 2 years training in Radiology Technology or equivalent plus an additional year training in Ultrasonography.  Eligible for registration as Diagnostic Medical Sonographers (ARDMS) or Registered Vascular Technologist.

At least 1 specialty area (ex: OB/GYN, Vascular, Abdomen) or registry eligible within 6 months of employment and pass within 1 year.  Work requires up to 12 months of prior related clinical experience to be able to independently perform diagnostic ultrasound procedures, equipment operation, and to gain knowledge of patient care techniques.  BCLS * * * * PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
