What do you contribute?

Your voyage begins in the exhilarating realm of international telecommunications projects (COM), as you step into the vibrant universe of rail technology with an exclusive focus on high-speed trains and metros. More specifically in the Center of Competence of Telecommunications: Connectivity, smart and seamless transmission of data, voice and signals, as well as passenger information, security and the management and control through SCADA protocols of power and stations.

  • In your new role you prepare self-contained bids f or telecommunication systems which are part of railway systems, e.g. CBTC, fix IP MPLS and Ethernet networks as well as wireless systems like WiFi, TETRA and 5G or digital station management.

  • You analyze and implement networks, IT-Security, systems architecture and technical concepts, based on hard- and software.

  • You discuss these with customers and internal stakeholders , with the aim to integrate your COM solution into the full Siemens Mobility transportation system.

  • Moreover, you lead the cost analysis of the telecommunication solution which includes calculating based on the available worldwide resources, the technology of partners and suppliers in collaboration with procurement, and most important, our own innovative Telecommunication solutions and products.

  • In addition, you draft the technical documents , which include system architectures , interface descriptions and design documents, in cooperation with R&D, project execution teams, other Business Units like Rolling Stock, a Sales and a Bid Team and the Product teams.

  • Furthermore, you cooperate self-initiated with customers, suppliers and specialist departments and you coordinate and define technical interfaces.

What do we expect from you?

  • University education in an (industrial) engineering field, at best in communications engineering, electrical engineering, information technology or computer science .

  • Moreover, you bring several years of experience in one of the following areas: System or technical project management, (procurement) engineering or technical bid management.

  • You are characterized by a good knowledge of transmission systems (such as, LAN, WLAN, LTE or 5G).

  • Ideally, you also bring initial practical know-how in other telecommunications systems from the railway environment (e.g., CCTV, SCADA, or telephony).

  • You contribute with a high level of initiative - we welcome the new ideas and innovation.

  • As you work in a global international project environment with multicultural and multifunctional teams , you have certain availability to travel (ca. 20%) and are proficient in English. German skills are an advantage.
