Summary This position serves as a Supervisory HR Specialist (Classification), located in the U.S. Department of Justice (DOJ), JMD, Human Resources Operations, Classification Division in Washington D.C. The duties and responsibilities for a 0201 Supervisory Human Resources Specialist (Classification) generally include, but are not limited to, the following: Provides technical supervision or oversight to accomplish the work of the unit. Collaborates with senior specialists throughout the agency to ensure that the application of position classification standards is accurate and consistent. Provides expert advisory, consultative, and technical services to agency program and line managers on a broad range of Human Resources issues that involve complex and controversial issues. Prepares evaluation statements for positions with precedent-setting classification decisions that become the accepted guideline and standard for other specialists within the organization. Shares analyses and determinations with peers; incorporates best practices and lessons learned into the standard work practices of the agency classification program. Requirements Conditions of Employment Qualifications To qualify for the position of Supervisory Human Resources Specialist (Classification) at (GS-0201-14), you must meet the basic qualification requirements listed below AND possess the required specialized experience specific to this series and grade you're applying to. If you are a current or former government employee on a permanent appointment in the competitive service, you will need to demonstrate 1-year (52-weeks) at the next lower grade level (GS-13), to meet the time-in-grade requirements for this occupational series and grade. Additionally, please ensure to submit an applicable SF50 (please refer to the "required documents" section for additional information). Specialized experience at the GS-14 level: One year of specialized experience at the GS-13 grade level 1) Performing work or managing policy/operations in the Human Resources specialty area of Classification and 2) Providing technical guidance on Human Resources rules, laws, regulations, policies, and procedures related to position classification and position management.
