Our Sterile Processing Technicians take pride in their work because they know it plays an important role in patient safety. Safe procedures start with clean instruments. Our Sterile Processing Technicians work behind the scenes of healthcare facilities in a fast-paced environment, impacting patient safety without being patient facing. When healthcare facilities need the help of product experts, they call us because they know our Technicians are continuously trained on industry best practices.

What You Will Do

  • Reprocess surgical trays post-surgery; ensuring they are decontaminated, cleaned, inspected, sterilized, correctly assembled within a timely manner and ready for the next case

  • Operate sterile processing washers, sterilizers, ultrasonic and drying cabinets

  • Participate in regular on-site training

What You Need to Be Successful

  • . A high school diploma or equivalent required. Completion of a Sterile Processing/Surgical Technologist program preferred.

  • . 1 year of SPD or relatable experience (such as surgical or GI technician experience) and CRCST or CSPDT certification required OR 2 years of SPD or relatable experience (such as surgical or GI technician experience), obtaining CRCST or CSPDT certification within 12 months of hire. Certification must be maintained annually.

  • . Must also obtain CIS, CER/CFER, or STERIS Assessment certification within 12 months of hire. Certification must be maintained annually.

  • . Must maintain certification by completing 12 Continuing Education Credit Hours each year.

  • . Demonstrated proficiency with most trays and the ability to perform all SPD responsibilities without close supervision.
