Vertafore Sr. NOC Engineer in United States
Vertafore is setting up a Network Operations Center (NOC) team as part of the SaaS Operations organization. We are looking for a technology enthusiast to join our team in Hyderabad, India to move the team towards operational excellence. The role will primarily focus on monitoring, assisting with incident resolution, and ensure high availability of our infrastructure and applications. Successful candidate will report to the Manager of Network Operations Center.
Core Requirements and Responsibilities:
Proactive monitoring of availability and performance of infrastructure and application services hosted in the cloud and data center using existing tools.
Act as a First Point of Contact for incidents, escalations and business impacting technology issues.
Respond and perform first level triage of incidents within defined SLAs and work with teams towards resolution.
Assist in performing root cause analysis and root cause fixes.
Escalate to other teams, management, vendors or service providers for unresolved incidents based on defined processes or instructions from the management team.
Send out regular communication on the status of incidents.
Document incident details and troubleshooting steps followed along with timelines.
Work with problem manager to track problem resolutions to ensure the incident did not recur.
Daily monitoring of batch jobs statuses (ETLs, backups, data processing and more) and resolve issue using standard procedures. Escalate as needed.
Perform other tasks defined by the management team.
Mentor and support junior NOC engineers to perform their duties
Manage escalations and NOC on-call duties.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
Great verbal and written communication skills.
Able to understand technical terms.
Ability to perform high-level troubleshooting of infrastructure and application issues.
Must have either CCNA or SQL Database related certification or equivalent experience
Able to multi-task but stay focus on assigned tasks and attention to details.
Follow defined SLAs for communications, responses and schedules.
Able to interact with others in a professional manner.
Ability to conform to defined processes.
4 or more years of NOC engineer experience in a large US based organization
Experience supporting AWS based services is a big plus
Bachelor of Science in Computer Science, Business Information Engineering, or established professional with equivalent experience.
