Job Description

We are looking for a leader to define and lead the team building out our product strategy and portfolio, to grow and expand the business, and manage the products throughout their lifecycles. This role offers the rare opportunity to build a highly strategic and visible product portfolio working closely with the largest global Cloud Service Providers and CPU/GPU ecosystem enablers.

The scope of responsibilities include:

  • Leading the business and applications engineering team supporting these product families

  • Defining a product strategy, portfolio and roadmap within the targeted application spaces

  • Preparing business plans for new product concepts and proposals

  • Promoting new and existing products to the market

  • Managing pricing and quotations for strategic opportunities

  • Managing products throughout the entire product lifecycle

A successful candidate will be detail oriented, self-motivated, and work with a sense of urgency. The candidate must also possess excellent interpersonal skills and be able to work well across various functional organizations such as Applications Engineering, Design Engineering, and Field Sales.

Qualifications

This position has a broad range of responsibilities related to driving new product development and revenue growth:

  • Recruit, hire and train product managers, product definers, and product applications engineering leaders and individual contributors

  • Develop product and market strategy to grow each product family to a self-supporting and financially accretive profit center

  • Prepare new product proposals and drive a healthy product roadmap, including market requirements and business plans for new products

  • Provide prioritization on features, cost, and schedule trade-offs to product development teams as they develop and launch products

  • Drive new product development activities, identifying critical issues and working with Applications Engineering, Design Engineering and Product Engineering to solve them;

  • Provide timely responses to inquiries from customers and field teams regarding products, pricing, and other information;

  • Work with the sales and business planning teams to drive to financial targets for the product line;

  • Develop material for new product “go to market” activities including marketing campaigns, product promotion material, and other sales collateral;

  • Develop and deliver training to the sales and FAE teams;

  • Present Renesas solutions at industry conferences and trade shows; and

  • Create journal articles, whitepapers, and other published material.

YOU ARE BEST EQUIPPED FOR THIS ROLE IF YOU ARE

  • Experienced in the field of power management IC design engineering, application engineering or product marketing, specifically in high-current/low-voltage DC/DC solutions powering high-performance processors;

  • Strongly self-driven and self-motivated, and capable of taking full ownership of your activities;

  • Comfortable with multi-tasking;

  • A fast learner on new technologies, new applications, and new products;

  • Comfortable presenting to audiences of different background;

  • Capable of communicating with a broad audience;

  • Can travel domestically and internationally approximately 2-3 days per month on average.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE

  • BS degree in Engineering; MBA, MS or PhD a plus;

  • Requires 15 years of professional experience as an application engineer, field application engineer, or marketing engineer in the semiconductor industry with experience in power management ICs
