We are seeking a seasoned Solution Architect to play a pivotal role in a Hybrid Agile development team, tasked with the mission of modernizing IT Service Management (ITSM) for a Federal agency utilizing ServiceNow's Enterprise Service Management (ESM) platform. This position is central to ensuring that the ServiceNow solutions are effectively integrated into the agency's existing IT infrastructure and are aligned with business requirements. As part of a Design Scrum team, the Solution Architect will define and document the overall system architecture, customize and configure the ServiceNow platform to meet specific organizational needs, and work closely with both business and IT stakeholders. By leveraging a DevSecOps methodology, the role involves guiding the development and deployment of ServiceNow solutions across modules such as ITSM, SPM (Strategic Portfolio Management), ITOM (IT Operations Management), Customer Service Management, among others, to drive process optimization, best practices adoption, and continual service improvement. This position is contingent upon contract award.

What is the position?

The Solution Architect will be essential in driving the successful implementation and ongoing evolution of the ServiceNow ESM platform within the Federal agency. Through strategic planning, technical expertise, and collaborative engagement with stakeholders, the successful candidate will ensure that the ServiceNow solutions not only meet current needs but are also scalable and adaptable to future requirements, thereby contributing significantly to the agency's IT modernization efforts.

What will I get to do?

  • Define and document the overall system architecture for the ServiceNow project, ensuring seamless integration with the existing IT infrastructure and alignment with business requirements.

  • Customize and configure the ServiceNow platform to meet specific organizational needs, including developing custom applications, workflows, interfaces, and integrations within ServiceNow.

  • Collaborate with business and IT stakeholders to understand their needs and challenges, providing expertise on the capabilities and potential of the ServiceNow platform to address these needs effectively.

  • Guide the development and deployment of ServiceNow solutions, ensuring they leverage the platform's full potential while adhering to best practices in ITSM, process optimization, and service improvement.

  • Participate in Design Scrum meetings, contributing to the agile development process by providing architectural insights, risk assessments, and strategic direction.

  • Evaluate and recommend new technologies and updates to the ServiceNow platform that could enhance functionality, efficiency, and user experience.

  • Ensure the architecture and solutions adhere to federal standards and compliance requirements, incorporating security and data protection principles.

  • Facilitate knowledge sharing and technical mentoring within the team, promoting a culture of continuous learning and improvement.

What qualifications do I need?

  • Must have the ability to pass a background check and obtain a Public Trust clearance.

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or a related field.

  • Minimum of 5 years of relevant experience in IT architecture, with a strong focus on enterprise service management solutions, preferably within a federal IT environment.

  • 8 years of additional experience may be substituted for education.

  • Must have ServiceNow certification with 3-6 years of experience in ServiceNow development, including a deep understanding of various ServiceNow modules.

  • Excellent written and verbal communication abilities.

What additional characteristics will help me thrive?

  • ITIL v3 and/or ITIL v4 Certifications is highly desirable.

  • Various ServiceNow Certifications in other modalities is highly preferred.

  • Proven ability to design, customize, and implement complex ServiceNow solutions, including custom applications, workflows, and integrations.

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the capacity to translate business requirements into technical solutions.

  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to engage effectively with both technical teams and business stakeholders at all levels.

  • Deep understanding of Agile and DevSecOps methodologies, with experience participating in agile development processes.

  • Knowledge of ITSM principles, practices, and compliance requirements relevant to federal agencies, with a commitment to security and data protection.

  • Ability to stay current with technology trends, ServiceNow platform updates, and best practices in IT architecture and service management.

Compensation

$113,927.72 - $187,981.83

The pay range for this job is determined by various factors, including but not necessarily limited to location, responsibilities of the job, and alignment with market data. When determining a salary for this role, the following factors may be taken into consideration - contract-specific affordability, education, knowledge, skills, competencies and experience. The estimate displayed represents the salary range for this position and is just one component of Cognosante’s total compensation package for employees. It is not necessarily reflective of actual compensation that may be earned, nor a promise of any specific pay for any specific employee.
