Come Join Our Team

We are seeking an enthusiastic ServiceNow Developer to join our team in supporting a Software Development and Support program for a federal agency, utilizing ServiceNow's Enterprise Service Management (ESM) platform. The ideal candidate will be a ServiceNow Certified Application Developer with a bachelor's degree and a minimum 5 years of relevant experience in software development. The ServiceNow Developer must have experience in analyzing customer needs and developing overall concept and design objectives. The ServiceNow Developer must have experience in the creation of error free software code under the direction and supervision of the Senior ServiceNow development managers. He/She must have experience in both windows and web development environments and must be able to write software documentation. This position is designed for individuals who are passionate about technology and eager to further develop their skills in ServiceNow development. The ServiceNow Developer will play a supportive role in designing, developing, and implementing ServiceNow solutions under the guidance of more experienced developers, contributing to the enhancement of agency operations and service delivery. This position is contingent upon contract award.

What will I get to do?

  • Support ServiceNow Development: Assist in the design and development of ServiceNow solutions, including the customization of existing applications and creation of custom applications, under the supervision of senior developers.

  • Learn and Apply Best Practices: Actively engage in learning ServiceNow's capabilities and best practices, applying this knowledge to development tasks and projects.

  • Maintenance and Enhancement: Support the maintenance of ServiceNow applications, including troubleshooting issues, applying patches, and performing upgrades as directed.

  • Collaboration and Communication: Work collaboratively with the development team and other stakeholders, contributing to the development process and participating in Agile ceremonies.

  • Documentation: Assist in creating and maintaining documentation for system configurations, development processes, and user guides to ensure effective knowledge sharing and system maintenance.

  • Quality Assurance: Participate in testing and quality assurance processes for ServiceNow applications, identifying and documenting bugs and issues for resolution.

What qualifications do I need?

  • Must have the ability to pass a background check and obtain a Public Trust clearance.

  • Bachelor's Degree (Computer Science, Electronics Engineering or other engineering or technical discipline is required).

  • 3 years of relevant experience.

  • 8 years of additional relevant experience may be substituted for education.

  • Experience in analyzing customer needs and developing overall concept and design objectives.

  • Effectively create software in a variety of programming languages and for a variety of IT software applications.

  • Experience in debugging and correcting errors in computer programs.

  • ServiceNow Application Developer Certification (CAD) is required.

  • Excellent written and verbal communication abilities.

What additional characteristics will help me thrive?

  • ITIL v3 and/or ITIL v4 Certification(s).

  • Certified ServiceNow System Administrator (CSA), preferable.

  • Technical Skills: Basic proficiency in JavaScript, HTML, CSS, and an understanding of web technologies, with a willingness to learn and apply new skills in ServiceNow development.

  • Analytical and Problem-Solving Abilities: Strong analytical thinking and problem-solving skills, with the ability to address challenges under the guidance of senior team members.

  • Communication: Good communication skills, with the ability to interact effectively with team members and stakeholders, and to clearly document and articulate development processes.

  • Adaptability and Eagerness to Learn: A proactive approach to learning and personal development, with the flexibility to adapt to new technologies and project requirements.

Compensation

$74,436.56 - $119,096.32

The pay range for this job is determined by various factors, including but not necessarily limited to location, responsibilities of the job, and alignment with market data. When determining a salary for this role, the following factors may be taken into consideration - contract-specific affordability, education, knowledge, skills, competencies and experience. The estimate displayed represents the salary range for this position and is just one component of Cognosante’s total compensation package for employees. It is not necessarily reflective of actual compensation that may be earned, nor a promise of any specific pay for any specific employee.
