We are looking for a dedicated ServiceNow Developer, Journeyman to contribute to a Software Development and Support program utilizing ServiceNow’s Enterprise Service Management (ESM) platform for a federal agency. The ideal candidate will be a ServiceNow Certified Application Developer with a bachelor’s degree and 5-7 years of experience in ServiceNow development. This role involves collaborating with a team of developers and analysts to design, develop, and implement ServiceNow solutions that streamline operations and support the agency's objectives. The ServiceNow Developer will leverage their technical skills and knowledge of the ServiceNow platform to create impactful solutions, optimize system performance, and ensure the delivery of high-quality services. This position is contingent upon contract award.

What is the position?

Joining our team as a Journeyman ServiceNow Developer offers the chance to contribute significantly to critical federal agency operations, utilizing your skills and knowledge to enhance the effectiveness and efficiency of their ServiceNow platform. This role provides a pathway for professional growth and the opportunity to work on challenging and rewarding projects.

What will I get to do?

ServiceNow Development: Design and develop solutions within the ServiceNow platform, including configuration, customization, and development of custom applications to meet project and user requirements.

Application Maintenance: Perform routine maintenance, upgrades, and enhancements to existing ServiceNow applications, ensuring they remain efficient and effective in meeting the agency’s needs.

Integration Support: Assist in the integration of ServiceNow with other enterprise software and systems using REST, SOAP, or other web services, enhancing data flow and automation across platforms.

Quality Assurance: Contribute to testing processes for ServiceNow applications, identifying bugs and issues, and implementing fixes to ensure high-quality deliverables.

Documentation: Create and maintain detailed documentation for developed applications and system configurations, facilitating knowledge transfer and system maintenance.

Collaboration and Communication: Work closely with team members, stakeholders, and end-users to gather requirements, provide updates, and solicit feedback on ServiceNow solutions.

Continuous Learning: Stay informed of the latest ServiceNow features, updates, and best practices, actively seeking to enhance skills and apply new knowledge to development tasks.

What qualifications do I need?

  • Must have the ability to pass a background check and obtain a Public Trust clearance.

  • Bachelor's Degree (Computer Science, Electronics Engineering or other engineering or technical discipline is required).

  • Minimum 3.5 years relevant experience.

  • 8 years of additional relevant experience may be substituted for education.

  • Experience in analyzing customer needs and developing overall concept and design objectives.

  • Effectively create software in a variety of programming and for a variety of IT software applications.

  • Experience in debugging and correcting errors in computer programs.

  • Must hold a current ServiceNow Application Developer Certification, showcasing expertise in the platform’s development environment.

  • Excellent written and verbal communication abilities.

What additional characteristics will help me thrive?

  • ITIL v3 and/or ITIL v4 Certification(s).

  • ServiceNow Certification(s) in various modalities.

  • Technical Skills: Proficiency in JavaScript, HTML, CSS, and other relevant web technologies, with a strong understanding of ServiceNow’s capabilities and development tools.

  • Analytical Abilities: Strong analytical skills, with the ability to troubleshoot issues, analyze requirements, and develop effective solutions.

  • Team Collaboration: Excellent teamwork and communication skills, with the ability to work effectively in a collaborative environment and communicate technical information clearly.

  • Adaptability: Flexibility to adapt to changing project needs, priorities, and technologies, with a keen interest in continuous personal and professional development.

Compensation

$96,760.98 - $154,817.56

The pay range for this job is determined by various factors, including but not necessarily limited to location, responsibilities of the job, and alignment with market data. When determining a salary for this role, the following factors may be taken into consideration - contract-specific affordability, education, knowledge, skills, competencies and experience. The estimate displayed represents the salary range for this position and is just one component of Cognosante’s total compensation package for employees. It is not necessarily reflective of actual compensation that may be earned, nor a promise of any specific pay for any specific employee.
