SENIOR SYSTEMS ADMINISTRATOR

As a Systems Administrator, you will provide day-to-day administration of Windows servers and applications. Your work is crucial to our continued success, and our compensation package and bonuses reward you for that contribution.
In this role, you are responsible for providing day-to-day administration of Windows servers and applications, providing assistance and support to MCI's Managed Services Provider as it pertains to Windows Active Directory and Group Policy Administration. In addition, the right person for this role should be experienced, highly organized, and possess a strong work ethic.

POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES
As a Systems Administrator, you will create and maintain system environments and assists in the design, planning, and execution of system design changes, updates, and other initiatives. Additional responsibilities for the Systems Administrator position include:
Perform system configurations, software installations, updates, and upgrades to Windows servers, applications, and other infrastructure systems.
Provide daily operational support and troubleshooting for server and infrastructure applications
Monitor system performance/availability and take appropriate proactive steps to maximize uptime
Monitor system security and take appropriate steps to resolve security breaches and prevent future attacks
Working with various IT teams to develop hardware and software specifications for new and upgraded systems
Design, install, configure, maintain, and perform system integration testing of PC/server operating systems
Support web access and electronic messaging systems while maintaining a secure environment
Provide support to the Helpdesk team with tickets, projects, and critical issue resolution
Monitor and control applications, servers, and jobs/processes
Coordinate with infrastructure to provide high-quality support for new systems, projects, and upgrades
Develop and maintain SOPs and documentation for all systems and processes
Provide systems administration management and support for software and platforms both internally and hosted by our vendors
Engage vendors to resolve issues with hardware and software problems
Other duties as assigned
CANDIDATE QUALIFICATIONS
Qualified candidates should be positive, driven, and confident individuals that will represent the company and its customers professionally at all times. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.
8+ years documented work experience managing Windows servers, Active Directory, Active Directory Group Policy Objects, Windows File Shares & Security, Microsoft IIS (Internet Information Services) required
8+ years of documented working experience utilizing anti-virus and other security software tools
Documented experience working with and configuring Citrix servers
Fundamental understanding of Microsoft SQL Server operations, including disaster recovery
Experience designing and creating specification documents for servers
Demonstrated ability to work on diverse projects simultaneously, requiring detailed analysis, creative/practical problem solving, time management, and sound judgment
Ability to self-motivate while operating effectively in a team-oriented and collaborative environment
Excellent verbal/written and interpersonal skills
Ability to solve practical problems and deal with various situations exercising flexibility and sound judgment in a fast-paced environment

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
This job operates in a professional office environment. While performing the duties of this job, the employee will be largely sedentary and will be required to sit/stand for long periods while using a computer and telephone headset. The employee will be regularly required to operate a computer and other office equipment, including a phone, copier, and printer. The employee may occasionally be required to move about the office to accomplish tasks; reach in any direction; raise or lower objects, move objects from place to place, hold onto objects, and move or exert force up to forty (40) pounds.
