Senior Software Development Engineer The Challenge Circadence has an immediate opening for a passionate and driven full-stack software engineer to join us in creating the ultimate cybersecurity learning platform. Our inclusive and expanding engineering team is pushing the boundaries of Microsoft Azure cloud technology. We are constructing a cutting-edge SaaS platform with a contemporary microservices architecture that utilizes Golang, NoSQL, Postgres, Kubernetes, and gRPC. Additionally, our front-end development is powered by the latest technologies including React, JavaScript, TypeScript, and Nx. Job Description The Senior Software Development Engineer will be part of an agile development team, building and working on enterprise grade software systems on top of an ever-evolving, modern development stack. You will build, secure, test, integrate, deploy, release, operate and monitor in a “you build it, you run it” team-based Azure cloud environment. Ideal candidates will have experience balancing live-site management, feature delivery, and retirement of technical debt. Attributes • Servant leader: Listens, empathetic, persuasive, inclusive, steward, builds community, asks for feedback • Passionate, creative, intelligent, critical thinker, problem solver • Proactive communicator, documents clearly and succinctly, detail oriented • Inspiring, respectful, thoughtful, energetic • Strong initiative to find ways to improve solutions, systems, and processes Responsibilities • Develop new user-facing features • Build reusable code and libraries for future use • Maintain existing codebase • Ensure the technical feasibility of UI/UX designs • Optimize application for maximum speed and scalability • Collaborate with other team members and stakeholders Minimum experience and qualifications • BS in Computer Science, Software Engineering, related field, or equivalent industry experience • 6+ years of designing and developing enterprise grade software Required Competencies • Experience with Microsoft Azure • Experience with containerization technologies such as docker and Kubernetes • Comprehensive understanding of object-oriented and service-oriented application development techniques, best practices, design patterns, and anti-patterns • Experience with backend languages/frameworks like Go, Python • Experience with Queueing technologies such as RabbitMQ, ActiveMQ • Experience with Event Driven Architecture patterns and techniques • Proficient understanding of client-side scripting and JavaScript framework, particularly ReactJS • Strong understanding of asynchronous request handling, partial page updates • Proficient understanding of code versioning tools, such as Git • Experience with CI/CD automation patterns/constructs to include automated testing • Experience with agile development methodologies & Scrum • Experience with debugging, performance profiling and optimization • Excellent oral and written communication skills • Ability to work effectively in a dynamic, team-oriented environment Desired Experience and Skills • Experience with relational (MSSQL) and non-relational (MongoDB) database technologies • Experience with other public cloud platforms such as AWS or GCP • Knowledge of configuration management software such as Salt-stack • Familiarity with resource provisioning technology such as Terraform and Microsoft ARM templates • Familiarity with In-Memory Object storage technologies such as Redis Constraints • Location: Remote • Travel: None • Schedule: Full-time • Salary: Commensurate with experience In compliance with federal law, all persons hired will be required to verify identity and eligibility to work in the United States and to complete the required employment eligibility verification form upon hire.
