JOB SUMMARY

The Senior Project Engineer is responsible for assisting CONUS, Fuels, and Guam Ops Leadership team (Operations Manager, Program Manager, Project Managers) with day-to-day operations tasks that include but are not limited to preparation of plans, RFIs, submittals, correspondences, documentations required for buyout of subcontractors and vendors. The position shall establish and/or maintain structured document management standards for projects files. The Senior Project Engineer will ensure all projects’ compliance with internal Procore and external contractual requirements of reports, updates, and change management events. The individual shall also be responsible for assisting with monthly reporting requirements and occasionally assist in the preparation of claims. This individual will also assist with modification proposals and follow internal policies and procedures during project execution.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Primary duties and responsibilities include (but are not limited to):

  • Assist Ops leadership team (Operations, Program, and Project managers within the Construction division for CONUS, Fuels, and Guam) with day-to-day tasks;

  • Review and maintain all projects documentation;

  • Assist with preparation and maintenance of project schedules and budgets;

  • Coordinate with suppliers and subcontractors in obtaining and evaluating quotes for supplies and services;

  • Assist with project buyout process during Pre-Construction stage;

  • Facilitate permit applications with local authorities, environmental agencies and state or federal entities;

  • Coordinate the preparation of contract submittals such as work plans, QC plans, safety plans, vendor data, etc.;

  • Prepare, track, and consolidate input for Request for Information (RFI), Rough Order Magnitude (ROM), Government Submittals;

  • Under minimal supervision, work closely with external designers, subcontractors, vendors, and Government clients to ensure timely submission of design deliverables, plans, submittals, permits, notices for inspections, as-built documents, etc.;

  • Assist in keeping track of construction progress and subcontractor’s performance;

  • Provide input to senior management regarding project status;

  • Act as the quality control and assurance to ensure that the project reporting objectives are met;

  • Perform division-level QC check across all projects deliverables;

  • Maintain and improve projects document management system as necessary;

  • Identify, assess project issue and coordinate with required stakeholders for resolution;

  • Assist Contracts, Procurement, Project Controls teams as necessary for any specific project related issues;

  • Take an active role in overall day-to-day project maintenance during Pre-Con, Construction, and closeout period

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS, SKILLS, AND EDUCATIONAL REQUIREMENTS

  • Bachelor of Science degree in Civil, Chemical, or Mechanical engineering (preferred);

  • Minimum seven years’ experience (within the past 10 years) in Federal construction facilities engineering, including design, inspection, testing, and construction;
