Purpose of Role

This role is responsible for managing both the strategy and execution of a complex category spend. The category represents approximately 30 million pounds of customer warranty and end of life recapture that is generated from a national customer base. The position is responsible for managing the team that facilitates and records all aspects of warranty documentation, material acquisition and reuse back into our seven production facilities.

Areas of Accountabilities

Manage and invest in a team of direct reports that are passionate and resolute in their attention to detail.

  • Engage, coach, and challenge each individual to reach their full potential.

  • Foster a visionary perspective of continuous improvement.

  • Assign tasks a nd manage resources to optimize individual impact while creating departmental efficiency and synergies.

Develop robust category strategies that create a deliberate and efficient supply through strategic sourcing and provide for annual cost reductions.

  • Manage category spend with equal emphasis on cash, inventory, COGS and market fundamentals.

  • Design a future state that leverages fewer vendors and results in greater synergy through analyzation of long term goals vs near term transactions.

  • Develop supplier relationship management and risk assessments tools, alongside implementation of appropriate risk mitigation plans.

Analyze market information on commodities and upstream drivers to continuously improve strategy and minimize cost and supply risk.

  • Develop relationships with internal and external market Subject Matter Experts.

  • Solicit feedback from our production facilities on best practices and execute assessments on category supply and demand.

  • Orchestrate activities related to demand planning, production planning, inventory control and related system transactions.

    Knowledge, Skills, and Experience

  • BA/BS degree required.

  • 5+ years experience in coaching and developing a team.

  • 5+ years experience in the polyolefin markets, especially working with brokers and tollers of recycled, post industrial material.

  • Knowledge of Microsoft Applications and preferred Oracle/JDE.

  • Ability to be flexible and adaptable to changing work assignments as business priorities evolve.

  • Demonstrated experience influencing senior executives and key stakeholders within an overall business unit structure.

  • Exceptional Analytical skills, attention to detail, and ability to convert data to meaningful/actionable information.

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.

  • Travel up to 20% annually.

The wage range for this role takes into account the wide range of factors that are considered in making compensation decisions including but not limited to skill sets; experience and training; licensure and certifications; and other business and organizational needs. The disclosed range estimate has not been adjusted for the applicable geographic differential associated with the location at which the position may be filled. At Rehrig Pacific, compensation decisions are dependent on the facts and circumstances of each case. A reasonable estimate of the current range is $120,000 - $140,000.
